First of all lets put all that crap talk of how a sequel would only ruin the original. Just shut up. The average movie goer loves sequels and sure they are rarely better than the original but that doesn’t mean they cant be fun. With that being said here are some of the sequels I would love to see.
Top Gun 2
Not to sound horrible but it is getting annoying how Tom Cruise is still a box office star. Sure Knight and Day didn’t light it up but just watch MI:4 make damn good money. Don’t Get me wrong, I think Tom may be one of the greatest movie stars off all time but only when his career starts to tank will he consider making Top Gun 2. We all want this movie to be made, it needs to be made and hell, there hasn’t been a good fighter pilot movie since the original. I don’t care what the plot is, perhaps I could do with less sweaty shirtless men playing volleyball second time around but we have to get the ladies excited as well.

Anchor Man 2
I have no idea why this hasn’t been made. The huge following of this movie would make a sequel box office gold. Add in the fact that all the original cast are willing to come back and this makes the situation even more irritating. The fact is that the studio execs have passed on this movie so many times that I really am thinking that this movie will never be made. Oh, in case you were wondering, the plot of the sequel was never really revealed but it was going to be a musical…what could have been.

Star Wars Prequels or Sequels
People are always wanting Episodes 7,8 and 9 but if you read into the “history” of Star Wars, what happened before Episode 1 is where all the good stuff lies. Anyway, George Lucas has made it very clear that he never plans on making any more movies (there is a live action TV show planned) but wait, do we need Lucas to continue? Of course not. We already have all his ideas and as Empire and Jedi showed us we don’t need him to direct or write the movies so come on…lets see some more Star Wars.
True Lies 2
Arnold (not Tom Arnold) is back making movies, so that means this movie is now possible. The first one was just plain awesome and if the sequel master himself, James Cameron, decides to make this one I will be one of the first lining up to see it. Sure Harry would be getting a little old in this one but that just sets up everyones favorite line “I’m getting too old for this shit”.

Master and Commander 2
You will see this soon on my list of movies you should see, because it was damn good and way too many people missed it. It was nominated for Best Picture, did well at the box office and there are sequels to the original book, so there is not shortage of materials. The plan was to make a few of these movies but I guess it was not as successful as some may have hoped. Come on, take a chance and make a second one, Russell Crowe needs to be grounded after his return from Krypton (he is currently filming the next superman movie so I wanted everyone to get my witty comment).

Napoleon Dynamite 2
I know it could never live up to the first one, but damn it, I want them to try. If I would green light this movie in a heartbeat as it would be so easy to make money with this movie. The director and cast would all have to return to make a good go of it but I will not get my hopes up as Mr Hess has said there will never be a sequel. I guess I will continue to dream.

This week, I share with you my review of the almost-released movie The Music Never Stopped.This movie is based on the story ‘The Last Hippie’ that was published in Oliver Sacks’s 1995 book An Anthropologist On Mars. The music therapy community is super excited about this movie because, even though the story isn’t about music therapy, one of the main characters IS a music therapist!
As a ‘general movie-goer,’ I thought the movie was superb. I laughed. I cried. The acting was wonderful and the music credits at the end extensive
I also appreciated how ‘low-tech’ the movie was. So many modern movies feature high-tech computer and digital help’which is entertaining in it’s own way. But it was also nice to have a break from that.
As a music therapist, I was highly pleased with how music therapy was portrayed. I was concerned going into it because the story takes place in the mid-1980s. And, although I was a little girl and didn’t yet know about this fabulous field I would enter, I can guess that music therapy practice was a little different 25 years ago!
Yet I thought the description given by the music therapist in the movie (portrayed by the lovely Julia Ormond) was current and accurate. Whether that’s how it was described in the original story or not, it worked as a description for now. Which is important given that this may be the first time thousands of movie-goers have even heard of music therapy!
The only downside is that a lot of recorded music was used in the movie. And, as any music therapist these days knows, live music is much preferred over recorded music. That said, most of the recorded music wasn’t used by the music therapist’it was about a 50-50 split of live music and recorded music when ‘music therapy’ was portrayed.

A final note of appreciation’as a therapist, I was grateful that the movie portrayed the whole family being involved in the main character’s treatment. No client or patient can go it alone and it takes a support system of people helping him/her. This movie showed us that.All in all, I thought The Music Never Stopped gave a fair and accurate portrayal of music therapy. This will be a nice introduction to the field for hundreds, if not thousands, of moviegoers. And as an added bonus, it’s an overall wonderful movie!

Comedy movies have been a part of our lives since the beginning of the film industry. For instance, the famous silent movies based on the character called “Charlie Chaplin” showcased how a story could be interpreted without using any words. But when one watches a movie that portrays life in a simple way, he or she starts getting optimistic. The person will understand that life can be lived easily while laughing and playing also.
As one enjoys playing mostly when he or she is a kid, children are considered to be the best cast for comedy movies. Not only they tickle your funny bones, but also tell you in a way that you can look at this life in a more positive way. It is also said that we all want to return back to our childhood and get rid of our worries. Children movies offer us this chance by making us a part of their world.
If a person does not like children movies, it does not mean he can’t enjoy comedy movies. Today we have lot of genres under the comedy section viz. horror, fantasy, action, romance, etc. As comedy can be created in any kind of story, it has been a successful trend in the film industry. There are movies which are about alien attacks on earth which may sound like a serious matter, but it could rather be so hilarious that one can laugh one’s head off.
Other than just the laughs, such movies give health benefits as well. It has been scientifically proven that watching humorous films is good for people who are suffering from medical problems like that of blood pressure, cholesterol issues, etc. Humour is highly essential for those who endure pain and distress.
Comedy movies which are considered best are the ones that are based on everyday issues as they allow us to connect with the story. The first and foremost goal of such a movie is to make you guffaw or at least grin and feel good after you watch it.

Time heals all wounds… except for those inflicted by mass murderers and psychotic slashers. Despite some of these movies being over thirty years old, they’re still just as terrifying – and just as perfect for Halloween outfits – as they were during their debut. Here are our top five horror movies of the 80s.

5: Poltergeist (1982)

Never underestimate the power of a haunted house. While it wasn’t the first of its kind – “The Amityville Horror” premiered three years earlier – Poltergeist became famous for both its on-screen thrills and the mysterious deaths associated with its production. To this day we aren’t sure of the origins of “The Poltergeist Curse.” We just know that two words left such an impression on moviegoers that they became one of the best-known taglines in horror movie history:

“They’re here.”

4: Children of the Corn (1984)

Playing whack-a-mole with many of our base fears – religious blasphemy, rural isolation, creepy kids – Stephen King’s “Children of the Corn” was such a success that it not only terrified millions worldwide, but it put him on the map as the master of horror. What’s the only thing scarier than a bunch of child killers? Child killers in cornfields, apparently.

(As a bonus, Children of the Corn also makes for great mens Halloween outfits. They’re simple, cheap, and even if you have to explain the significance of the farmer’s hat and/or pitchfork, at least it gets people talking!)

3: Hellraiser (1987)

With the first appearance of the dark, menacing Pinhead, “Hellraiser” brought a whole new meaning to your grandmother’s knitting needles. It was also one of the first slasher flicks that dared to give its villain a voice and backstory – many of the killers before Pinhead were completely mute (Michael Myers, Frankenstein) or wise-cracking and deliberately funny (Chucky).

If you’re looking for Halloween Outfits that are semi-obscure and yet instantly recognizable, Pinhead is worth the stitches.

2: A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Freddy Krueger slashed through our screens and brought with him a terrifying concept: that we aren’t even safe when we sleep. Who can stop their dreams?

Maybe it’s that kind of terror that makes him such an iconic figure in Hollywood and party shops alike. A perfect blend of scary and nostalgic, The Freddy Krueger costume is one of the best mens Halloween costumes you can buy… because sometimes even three decades aren’t enough to numb the nightmares.

1: Friday the 13th (1980)

Perhaps *the* the most successful horror movie franchise of all time, Friday the 13th was the debut of the silent, predatory Jason, who would go on to change the meaning of hockey masks forever. His character is instantly recognizable (and a staple of mens Halloween costumes) and his influence is still felt in modern cinema today. He even battled Freddy in a 2003 remake!
