This movie features the collaborative directorial efforts of four new filmmakers, each of whom directs a segment of this comedy. It’s New Year’s Eve at the Mon Signor Hotel, a former grand old Hollywood hotel, now fallen upon hard times. Often using physical comedy and sight gags, this movie chronicles the slapstick misadventures of Ted, the Bellhop. He’s on his first night on the job, when he’s asked to help out a coven of witches in the Honeymoon Suite. Things only get worse when he delivers ice to the wrong room and ends up in a domestic argument at a really bad time. Next, he foolishly agrees to watch a gangster’s kids for him while he’s away. Finally, he finishes off the night refereeing a ghastly wager.
When Betty is playing video games with her friends, she is playing Rambo 3 on a Sega Genesis. However, some scenes show the game she is playing as Rambo for the Nintendo Entertainment System, while she is still using a Sega Genesis controller.
I really don’t understand why this movie got such bad reviews! Overall, this is a creative and refreshing movie. It is not Pulp Fiction but it is still a good performance. Tim Roth, especially, is the best thing in the film. Out of the four I like Robert Rodguize’s misbehavior the best. The missing ingredient was indeed a bit cheesy but the rest are still above average performance. If you are interested in this movie but discouraged by the movie critics, I ensure you that you won’t regret seeing it.
Now that Ryan Seacrest is at the helm, the show has gotten a much-needed burst of energy and excitement, though it still holds true to form by keeping Mr. Clark involved. This year the live broadcast promises to bring some hot musical acts, and of course, a live countdown that famously switches from one major city to the other.
The show will feature Ryan and Dick in New York along with Jenny McCarthy. They will work the east coast celebration while Fergie handles the West Coast countdown.
As usual, we are also being promised a slew of big name performances. In fact, Avril Levigne is set to make a comeback of sorts with her new single ‘What The Hell,’ off of the upcoming album ‘Goodbye Lullaby.’ Also on the bill are Kesha, Taio Cruz, Jennifer Hudson, Drake, Natasha Bedingfield, K$sha, Train, The Backstreet Boys, and New Kids On The Block.

For some, it has become a tradition to sit with family and watch this particular New Year’s broadcast. It’s nice that they continue to keep Mr. Clark involved, even with some of the health problems he has had in recent years. I suppose at some point they will completely hand it over to Ryan Seacrest, but the countdown just won’t be the same without him.

I never thought the life of a pickpocket was particularly endearing but after seeing the trailer for IFC Films’ Loosies, I’m not so sure. Master thief Bobby seems to be cruising along easy street — fine dining, buying to his hearts content and bedding pretty girls — that is until he finds out a one-night stand has resulted in a pregnancy. With the law playing catch up, can Bobby clean up his act? My money says he does… Loosies stars Peter Facinelli, Jaimie Alexander, Vincent Gallo, Michael Madsen, Joe Pantoliano and William Forsythe.
Storyline
A young pickpocket in the New York subways, living a fast, free, lifestyle is confronted by a woman whom he had a one night affair with, she informs him that she is now pregnant with his child, he must now choose between continuing the lifestyle he lead or take responsibility for his actions.
Bobby (Peter Facinelli) is living the high life in the new drama “Loosies.” He works on Wall Street, dates beautiful women and has a great boss (Vincent Gallo). Well, that’s what it seems like on the outside to those closest to him (which would basically just consist of his mother). Dig a little deeper, and you find out that Bobby’s actual profession is that of a pickpocket, and his boss is a man who his late father owed $500,000 in gambling debt. Now, Bobby is slowly paying it off by working for him as an elusive street thief.
Oh, and the beautiful women? Well, one of them is three months pregnant and runs into Bobby. That becomes the central conflict of this hidden gem, available now via Video on Demand. Well, and the fact that Lt. Sullivan (Michael Madsen) is doing everything in his power to catch Bobby on account of the fact that Bobby got a little too greedy and pick pocketed his badge.
“Loosies” works mostly due to a strong and very likable script (which Facinelli wrote). The film gives us real characters with real reasons to dislike them, but what drives the film is how the actors and script show show us small details about each character that are positive. We want everything to be OK.
These characters are so different, yet their paths interconnect, bringing us a very unusual and entertaining film. Lt. Sullivan belongs in a Dirty Harry movie, while Bobby actually probably belongs in “Wall Street” (someone say “Wall Street 3?” On second thought, don’t), and Gallo’s eccentric boss just belongs in an eccentric Gallo movie, I suppose.
Each actor brings something unique to the script. They make the film interesting and drive it along. The script helps because it moves at a fast pace but never uses false gimmicks and Hollywood clichés to drive the plot forward. It simply tells us a story, and that should be fine with anyone who enjoyed old Hollywood before the new one rode in with a vengeance.
The film’s second half is its strongest and also one that conservatives will particularly enjoy. After finding out that Lucy (Jaimie Alexander) is pregnant, Bobby decides to just get rid of it. So, being the upstanding gent that he is, he offers to pay for an abortion and personally take her (which leads to some great scenes when Bobby can’t enter his home to get the money on account of scary Madsen being staked outside).
After finally convincing her, Bobby takes her to the clinic. He takes a strong look around. He sees another young couple and it hits him. It’s a baby, his baby. It’s not some stray dog. Thus, the film grows a heart and Bobby grows some old-school machismo.
In a world of “Transformers” and “Pirates of the Caribbean,” it’s nice to see an artist like Facinelli, best known for his work in the “Twilight” series, want to tell a real story with real characters and real hardships. The film isn’t great, but it has moments of greatness because of the fantastic performances by everyone all around. Facinelli is great in the lead role. He’s never showy and performs Bobby’s growth as a character perfectly.
Alexander has old-school charisma and steals every scene she’s in. Madsen fits perfectly into his role and Gallo, as usual, adds layers upon layers onto his character. By the end of it all, it may be hard to figure out whether Jax was truly evil or not. The direction by Michael Corrente is also impressive. The film may clearly be low budget, but the lighting and the way he focuses his camera gives great detail to the picture and adds a moodiness that wouldn’t have been there without it.
“Loosies” is not a masterpiece, but it is a solid piece of cinema. Forget the gimmicks, forget the clichés. Just sit back and enjoy a great story that will tug you along from start to finish all while entertaining you and leaving you with some food for thought, which is more than most movies today can say.

Watch Online Martha Marcy May Marlene Movie 2011
Martha (Elizabeth Olson) is a young woman who’s spent the last two years living as part of a cult headed by the charismatic Patrick (John Hawkes). Having escaped, she moves in with her sister, Lucy (Sarah Paulson) and brother in-law, Ted (Hugh Dancy), while keeping secret her history with the cult. MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE is one of the big breakout hits of this year’s Sundance Film Fest. Waiting in the press lines at each film, I’ve heard a lot of excited chatter about it, and now, with Fox Searchlight picking it up for distribution, this looks to be on of the big indie titles of 2011. Sure enough, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE (or “The 4 M’s”, as I’ve been calling it) is a dynamite piece of work.
To me, this feels like this year’s WINTER’S BONE, with the most obvious similarity between the two being that John Hawkes appears in both, and that this also features another star-making lead performance from the young female lead; this one being Elizabeth Olson. The younger sister of the Olson twins, she’s a revelation, in a very difficult role. Looking at Olson, it’s easy to imagine her being a big star within a few years, with her projecting a maturity and strength that seems beyond her years. The only complaint most have had about this film is that Martha, as played by Olson, seems far too intelligent ever to be taken in by a cult. I think those folks might be missing the point a bit though, as the film goes to great lengths to show the way she’s been slowly indoctrinated by Patrick and his minions.
Martha Marcy May Marlene Movie 2011 Watch Online
The film cuts back and forth between Martha’s indoctrination, which leads to her being renamed Marcy May, and her return home. The scenes set at the cult compound are unsettling to say the least, with John Hawkes taking a radically different approach to this type of role than Michael Parks did in Kevin Smith’s RED STATE. Hawkes comes off as more of an even-tempered, sensitive guy, and he doesn’t indoctrinate with racism, homophobia or anything like that. Yet, he’s just as sinister, particularly in a harrowing scene where he ritualistically rapes Martha, afterwards explaining that he was “initiating” her into the family. It’s a shocking scene that drew collective gasps from the audience I saw this with.
For the first hour of the film, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE moves along at a deliberate (but never sluggish) pace, with the mystery of the cult and Marcy’s involvement being peeled away slowly. Then, in the last forty minutes, things take a sinister turn, and until the end of the film, a true sense of dread starts to descend. By the end, I was on the edge of my seat, almost breathless with the anticipation that something truly horrible was about to happen on-screen, and the ending, while unconventional, doesn’t disappoint. I don’t want it to seem like I’m calling MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE of horror film, but in a way, you could call it a thriller, and a profoundly effective one at that.
As much as this film will put Olson on the map, director T. Sean Durkin also deserves a lot of recognition, as this is one of the most brilliantly directed first films I’ve ever seen. The film mostly takes place at only two locations, with Patrick’s compound in the woods, and Lucy and Ted’s posh vacation home on a lake. Both are remote locations, and really drive home that fact that these characters are on their own, with no help anywhere in sight. With Durkin also having authored the screenplay, he strikes me as a major new talent, in addition to Olson. MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE is easily the best film I’ve seen at the festival so far, and I can’t really see anything being better at this point. It’s a remarkable, truly exciting indie that is a perfect example of the type of film that Sundance is so perfectly designed to showcase.
